Academic Training

Training

Great fun and qualifications too. Cadets learn new skills which they put into practice during practical activities and work towards nationally recognised Vocational Qualifications.

After approximatly 3 years training cadets achieve the BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies which is the equivalent of 2 GCSE's A*-C. From the age of 16 cadets can also participate in the BTEC First Diploma in Public Services as well as the BTEC First Diploma in Music.

All of the training for these qualifications is carried out on the local unit or at Wing organised events. As well as being great fun and nationally recognised they are also FREE to cadets.

For staff there is the opportunity to achieve NVQ level qualifications in management and leadership up to graduate level. Click here for more information on training and courses available from the Training and Development Support Unit area of the site.
